As we know by now, our focus is on healing and detoxing our liver. If that is working well, it will reduce our hormone imbalance and reduce our symptoms with poor immune function and ultimately Endometriosis.
Dandelion Leaf is fabulous for this and though you can buy Dandelion Capsules, I always prefer to get things from the source, if I can! James often compares me to a cow with this one! I go around picking Dandelion Leaves quite often these days!
Here is how to recognise Dandelion and it’s leaves:
Here is a more specific identification shared by Benita on Facebook for us:

Hi Mel , I have been a follower of your blog and you have so many articles/entries that have been so helpful. Lately I’ve been drinking dandelion root tea and it seems very helpful. What do you think of dandelion root tea? Have you tried it?
I want to thank you for sharing your journey with endometriosis. It’s been really helpful and encouraging. Beth
Hey Beth,
I am glad to hear it! Yes, Dandelion Root is even better – haven’t had a chance to do an article on that one yet. I make a “coffee” of cocoa powder (raw), Dandelion Root (roasted) and Reishi Mushroom. It tastes very similar to coffee but has heaps of good stuff in it!
Hi Melissa, just watched your post on dandelion and I am not sure that the one you show is an edible plant. I have always known dandelion flower to be on one juicy hollow stem and with a big seed ball. Here’s an article that might explain this better then I can. Have a good day, Benita.

Thanks Benita. I have pasted the exact description of the differences here: Dandelions are so similar to catsears (Hypochaeris) that catsears are also known as “false dandelions”. Both plants carry similar flowers, which form into windborne seeds. However, dandelion flowers are borne singly on unbranched, hairless and leafless, hollow stems, while catsear flowering stems are branched, solid and carry bracts. Both plants have a basal rosette of leaves and a central taproot. However, the leaves of dandelions are smooth or glabrous, whereas those of catsears are coarsely hairy.
Other plants with superficially similar flowers include hawkweeds (Hieracium) and hawksbeards (Crepis). These are readily distinguished by branched flowering stems, which are usually hairy and bear leaves.
Here is a pick for ease too: http://www.nextbarnover.com/images/dandelion.jpg
