Oils are a wonderful addition to your daily routine and can really give different relief not just on the body but also as a wonderful effect on the mind.
When you have your period and are in pain it feels almost impossible to loosen that tight feeling in your abdomen.
I have found various oils can greatly assist in that tightness feeling – any time of the month.
Make a castor oil pack
¼ cup castor oil 8 drops of Geranium OilSoak a face cloth in the mixture and heat in the microwave until warm but not hot. Alternatively, you can place the soaked face cloth on your abdomen first and then place a hot water bottle on top. The idea is to create a warming oil on your tummy to all it to soothe into you.
Best done at the end of the day for about 30-60minutes.
Wash off after use.
Calendula Oil
This one is good for those early morning pains. Put the oil directly onto the area that is tender and massage softly into the skin. Make sure your hands are warm and your body is relaxed. Try and not tense your muscles while doing it. The good thing is that you can leave the oil on after use.
Calendula oil has been known to improve scarring and inflammation. It increases oxygen and blood flow to the area. The oil contains triterpenoids which are a natural anti-inflammatory.
Oil is a good friend in treating your pain. My cupboard is full of different oils. Immerse yourself in discovering all the different types and how they can add to your daily routine. Burning a calming oil like cedar in a room also adds to making your mood calmer!
