The seasons always bring with it some wonderful new fashions and I figured we could create a special fashion wardrobe just for Endometriosis Girls.
These are my favourite fashion items. Feel free to add your own ideas!
Funky Hot Orange Drawstring Pants
Typically when we wear pants that are too tight, hard or have elastic we are likely to get more sore. With drawstring you can decide how tight or loose you want your pants to be!
I usually wear the more beachy type drawstring pants but they are often not stylish enough for work environments. These are a fabulous variety to look hot and fashionable, while still being comfortable!
Spruce them up with some hot shoes and you are ready for a night on the town!
Free flowing Summer Dresses

These dresses are so gortious! The design is aimed at hiding the tummy so you can breathe easy and let it relax. I find when I wear dresses that show off my tummy, I am forever conscious about it sticking out! I land up cramping my stomach all day long, meaning pain by the end of the day.
This style will let you breathe and they look absolutely fabulous!
I personally wear summer dresses in any season. Put on some boots and a cardigan and you are set for Autumn – obviously I am in New Zealand so it is a little warmer!
The goal is really to find a dress that is free flowing and yet still tucks in the right places, so you don’t look like the bag lady! You can find long versions too!
You want to avoid dresses that focus on the waist. Anything with a waist belt or tightness around the tummy. If it is just above the stomach, almost a hand down from your breasts, this is great. It will accentuate your figure but not your stomach!
The “Long Shirt” Look
The next option is to go with the “long shirt” look. I love this look. The hardest part is finding leggings that are loose enough to wear underneath in winter!

It is amazing how much our dress sense not only makes us feel conscious but also can create unnecessary pain for Endometriosis. I notice a distinct difference on days where I wear those clothes that are a little tight or show off my stomach too much. Have you noticed the connection?
It is certainly easier to dress for winter as you can hide your stomach easier so I figured I would focus on summer outfits.
Is there any outfits or suggestions you have for clothes for other girls with Endometriosis?
Work clothes definitely seem to be the hardest thing to dress for! I always opt for dresses with a specific breathable cut! That way I don’t have thing digging into me all day!

I definitely find tight jeans aggravate my pain so now I have a high rise pair which is a tiny bit big for me which I wear on bad days, I have a vertical surgery scar which is irritated by jean buttons also so a high rise pair gives my scar a break at the same time.
I buy stockings/tights the size up so they are loose on my tummy and you can just pull them up at the top of your thighs if there is a bit extra material.
I love this post. I adore those orange pants! So pretty. I read this post a week or so ago, and did an experiment of my own with my own clothes. I wore my usual denim capris for a day, and I couldn’t believe how much it hurt! I hadn’t made the connection before, but since my surgery weeks ago, I’d been wearing stretchy yoga capris with drawstring waist. I used to be in pain more often, and always on my left side. Now it makes sense. I always wore jeans, and I always ended up with left side pain. The doctor said my endo. is more on my left side. Huh. I never made the connection. The constricting clothes make my pain so much worse, and make me crampy. The looser, stretchier, more breathable clothes don’t hurt nearly as much. I think I’ll be shopping differently for clothes in the future. Jeans may look good, but they don’t feel good, at least none of the ones I have. I think my new rule is, if i can’t do yoga in it comfortably, I’m not gonna buy it.
Have you noticed anything about shoes? I have been wearing comfy shoes that offer lots of shock absorption. Now, when I put on a harder shoe, like a high heel, it hurts worse. Coincidence?
Interesting about the shoes. It could be. I know I can’t wear high shoes when I have my period. The thought just sounds exhausting! Might have something to do with it too
I hope the tight jeans look goes out of fashion soon
Me too! LOL!
