I have been feeling terrible the last week. I had some Panadeine on an empty stomach on Thursday night and boy have I suffered the consequences. My stomach was absolutely burning from acid pain! It was unbelievably painful. Well, I was really good on Friday and had a bowl of rice for lunch and really [...]

How to tell if you are stressed!
by Melissa on August 25, 2010 in Stress & Endometriosis, Thoughts and Emotions
Stress is a big factor in how we feel and the associated pain of Endometriosis. We can often be under stress and not actually realise it. We run the body at a frantic pace and this will affect the entire system. When we are stressed, the body works on a “fright or flight” mode. This [...]
Is it okay to Cry?
by Melissa on August 20, 2010 in Stress & Endometriosis, Thoughts and Emotions, Words of encouragement
So, we had a bad day at work and there is nothing that particularly happened to make us have a bad day, we just didn’t enjoy it or want to be there….. is it okay to have a little cry about it? Well, probably no. There is a scary place we can go with our [...]

by Melissa on August 19, 2010 in Healthy Lifestyle choices, Stress & Endometriosis, Thoughts and Emotions
It is so easy to feel overwhelmed with all the things going on in our lives sometimes. It feels like there are all these things we’ve been meaning to do or that we need to get done and yet somehow they are always done in a rush or we feel under pressure to get them [...]
I feel so alone! Why doesn’t anyone get this?
by Melissa on August 12, 2010 in Stress & Endometriosis, Thoughts and Emotions, Words of encouragement
We tell our friends we can’t come and visit them as we feel sore and in pain. They sometimes think it is an excuse not to see them and that we don’t really enjoy their company. We tell our partners that we don’t feel well enough to have sex that it causes pain and they [...]
Pamper yourself! How to love your body, even with Endo
by Melissa on August 3, 2010 in Featured Articles, Stress & Endometriosis, Thoughts and Emotions, Words of encouragement
I have a wonderful fellow Endometriosis sufferer writing to me from Malasia. She has given me some great ideas of things to write about in future blog articles. She used a fantastic term in her last email where she said: “Our Reproductive system is not faulty, it just needs a little pampering!”. What a wonderful [...]
How to let things go, allowing you to de-stress and enjoy life more!
by Melissa on August 1, 2010 in Featured Articles, Stress & Endometriosis
The most fascinating thing about life is allowing oneself to simply enjoy it and take it at face value. Many of us get so wrapped up in achieving this or that, being this or that or wanting more, that we simply forget to enjoy the simplicity of life. I want to remind you of a [...]

by Melissa on July 22, 2010 in Stress & Endometriosis, Thoughts and Emotions
Endometriosis affects us on so many levels it is often a thought, just to drop it all and live a simple life. A life in the middle of the country, growing your own vegetables and fruit without the dreaded poisons on them…. A life where you can get up when you choose and not have [...]

Are you a Timeous Perfectionist?
by Melissa on June 28, 2010 in Featured Articles, Stress & Endometriosis
Do you constantly think about how you are going to complete a job as quickly and as perfectly at the same time? Do you stress and get annoyed when others don’t? How about traffic? Do you find yourself cursing about people driving badly and slowly all at the same time? I did a course [...]
Calm yourself down
by Melissa on June 22, 2010 in Featured Articles, Stress & Endometriosis
Stress is a major contributor for the pain associated with Endometriosis. When we stress, we tense our abdominal muscles and this naturally will cause more pain in Endometriosis sufferers. We tend to get more worked up about things too, our emotions tend to be more out of control and it is important to dispell and [...]
Expelling Negative Emotions
by Melissa on June 18, 2010 in About Endometriosis - an introduction, Stress & Endometriosis, Thoughts and Emotions, Words of encouragement
As your thoughts and your health are very interlinked it is important to get rid of any bad emotions you may have about your past or yourself. It has been indicated through many philosophies how your health and your thoughts/emotions are closely interlinked. As said by Michelle Longo O’Donnell who is a registered nurse of [...]
Exercise and Endometriosis
by Melissa on June 13, 2010 in About Endometriosis - an introduction, Healthy Lifestyle choices, Movement is key, Stress & Endometriosis, Yoga for Endometriosis
I know when you hear the word exercise you probably just want to crawl under the bed or hide away. The thought creates visions of pain and discomfort for days after doing any form of exercise which is why most Endometriosis sufferers avoid exercise. Don’t worry it doesn’t mean going and running a marathon! Exercise [...]

I just wanted to say, how enlightening your Site is, a dear friend of mine, has gone through hell and back, it has taken them three and a half years to finally diagnose that she has Endometriosis, and as a result it is quite advanced, she is now waiting for an operation. I have been reading up on the subject, because I want to be there for her, and to do that I need to understand the problems she is encountering, many thanks for laying it out so that it can be easily understood.
