Over a year ago I went to see a “Westernised” Chinese Doctor – when I say “westernised”, I mean that she studied Chinese Medicine but wasn’t chinese and didn’t grow up there or learn the methods through history. From the onset of meeting her, I didn’t particularly like her. She was very aggressive in her [...]

Should we be taking Plant Based Hormones for Endometriosis?
by Melissa on February 2, 2012 in Featured Articles, Hormone Treatments
To be honest, I struggle with this topic. There is so much misinformation when it comes to plant based hormones! It has almost tormented me since I started on this quest to overcome Endometriosis. It also depends so much on our age, our environment, our foods and our hereditary line! Plant based hormones are also called Phytoestrogens [...]
The Hot Debate about Omega 3 Oils. Are you taking any? Are they any good? Which ones should we be taking?
by Melissa on January 28, 2012 in Healthy Lifestyle choices, Hormone Treatments
The big campaign to have more Omega’s in our diet is certainly out there and everywhere you look, someone is suggesting that we should include these “essential” oils in our diet. In most cases, it is suggested that we couldn’t possibly get them through our diet and hence having to now explore supplements or taking [...]
Is your Treatment Plan for Endometriosis really working for you? Is it healing or merely suppressing symptoms?
by Melissa on January 25, 2012 in About Endometriosis - an introduction, Featured Articles, Hormone Treatments, Reducing Endometriosis Pain
I remember when my Treatment Plan for Endometriosis was quite different from what it is now. It is one I am sure you may identify with. I took the Contraceptive Pill continuously, took pain-killers and any other medications for the side-effects of the pill and went in for a Laparoscopy operation to “clean me out” [...]
Could this be the easy way to solve PMS symptoms, weight problems and depression with Endometriosis?
by Melissa on January 9, 2012 in Endometriosis Symptoms, Hormone Treatments
I know for a long time I have blamed my PMS, weight problems and emotional up’s and down’s on my hormones. Hey, it’s gotta be all part of having Endometriosis….right? Well, what I discovered recently has really opened my eyes to what I should also focus on, when it comes to my hormones. See, our [...]
Could our Thyroid be THE KEY to solving Endometriosis or perhaps it is where it all began?
by Melissa on December 16, 2011 in Endometriosis Symptoms, Hormone Treatments, Possible Endometriosis Causes
A few months ago, I wrote an article about the thyroid and it’s significance in controlling hormones. What I didn’t perhaps realise is just how important the Thyroid is and how it may explain why we have Endometriosis. It all began with an annoying thing called allergies. I actually thought I would be fine this [...]
Why do you think Endometriosis Statistics are on the increase?
by Melissa on November 28, 2011 in Hormone Treatments, Possible Endometriosis Causes
For a long time I believed that Endometriosis was perhaps simply not being diagnosed way back in the day, when my mother grew up. I believed that perhaps women with Endometriosis did exist but because we were having babies alot sooner in those days and having our periods later, that the severity of the condition [...]
Traditional Chinese Herbs we can use for Endometriosis
by Melissa on November 21, 2011 in Hormone Treatments, Movement is key
I have been reading up on Chinese Herbs again and discovered a great website which demonstrates their effectiveness for Endometriosis and Fibroids. Essentially, the chinese describe endometriosis and fibroids as stagnated blood in the uterus and that it doesn’t flow freely. We experience dark, clotty blood flow and blood which has been allowed to oxidise. [...]
A warning about taking Maca Root Powder!
by Melissa on November 19, 2011 in Endometriosis Symptoms, Hormone Treatments, The Endometriosis Diet
I love Maca Root and I have promoted it heaps on this blog, so I thought I better tell you what I have discovered about it recently. A few weeks back, I had a few girls email me and describe that they had experienced worse pain after going on Maca Root. I found this incredibly [...]
Is taking the Contraceptive Pill for Endometriosis OK to combine with Natural Healing?
by Melissa on October 27, 2011 in Hormone Treatments
I took the contraceptive pill for years – 8/9 years on a continuous basis. My Gynaecologist suggested it would alleviate my Endometriosis symptoms and slow down the growth of the Endometriosis cells. To me, it felt like there was very little other choice – well… out of the flyers on the doctors wall, this seemed the [...]
Is it okay to Wallow about Endometriosis? Just for a day????
by Melissa on September 13, 2011 in Hormone Treatments, Thoughts and Emotions
There is a place where I am sure many of us go. It is a place we perhaps don’t want to admit to others or even reveal to ourselves too often. I call it “The Place of Wallowing for Endometriosis”. It is that place where we feel miserable, alone, stuck and somehow just depressed because [...]
How to overcome Nausea with Endometriosis
by Melissa on September 12, 2011 in Hormone Treatments, The Endometriosis Diet
I had a rough day yesterday. It has been years since I spent an entire day stuck in bed, just feeling so terrible that I couldn’t consider work or anything else. The thing that got me was food poisoning. Yip, really bad food poisoning! If you live anywhere near Rotorua in New Zealand don’t ever [...]

I just wanted to say, how enlightening your Site is, a dear friend of mine, has gone through hell and back, it has taken them three and a half years to finally diagnose that she has Endometriosis, and as a result it is quite advanced, she is now waiting for an operation. I have been reading up on the subject, because I want to be there for her, and to do that I need to understand the problems she is encountering, many thanks for laying it out so that it can be easily understood.
