Can you eat Tomatoes?

Can you eat Tomatoes?

So, I read somewhere in the Chinese Medicine theories that there are certain foods which they consider “cold foods”, in other words they counteract the warming process which we are trying to give the body.

I got on line and tried to find information that would support this theory but most of the information out there seems to indicate that tomatoes are actually good for us Endo sufferers. They say it contains an ingredient called Lycopene and would help reduce the adhesions we experience with Endometriosis.

What are adhesions? Those are the bridge like symptoms we get when the cells build up and stick together, causing unbelievable pain. So, we don’t want those. They are especially severe after operations – hence why many of us need another one shortly after…..

Anyways,

The Chinese Theory suggests that we would get instant pain from Tomatoes and eating large quantities would create a cold imbalance.

So, I would like to post an experiment to everyone out there. Do you fancy trying it?

Well, the idea would be to cut out Tomatoes for 2 weeks, allowing them to completely leave the body and then to have a big bowl of rice with tomatoes and measure whether it causes more pain or not. This is an experiment so naturally we don’t want to have other factors in there that might be causing pain, such as wheat or pasta or anything else – so no spaghetti bolognaise or anything like that – sorry ladies. The results are supposed to be instant so that is at least easy to measure! :)

So, the rules are:

No tomatoes in any form for the next two weeks. That means no ketchup, no sauces containing tomatoes and no real tomatoes, no matter what!

Then, after two weeks, we try a bowl of rice (shouldn’t show any diverse affects) and a huge amount of tomatoes, preferably in the real form cut up and cooked or heated up briefly so they still have some nutrients in them.

Also, make sure your tomatoes are organic or that you got them from a local veggie shop or market – we want to make sure it is the actual tomato that is causing the problem!

If you are keen to try the experiment to prove or dismiss the theory, simply type in type in the comment section: “I’m in” and then in 2 weeks, I will follow up with how we did – naturally I am in too so we can compare notes! The more people we can get to sign up, the more accurate the results will be! So, please sign up…..
