There have been moments when I have regretted using cureendometriosis.com as my domain name. Not because of any other reason but because others have seen this as a target to disprove that it can be done. I actually had someone hack into my account a few weeks ago and leave a nasty message about how I should stop believing in cloud dreams and that Lupron was a much better solution! In a way, I see this as a good thing – it means I am obviously hitting someone where it hurts and that they feel the need to disprove me :)
When I first came up with the name, my mission was simply to find a cure for myself. I delved into all sorts of different avenues and methods and luckily now, I have some followers who also believe it can be done.
Here are my reasons for believing that a cure is possible:
1. This condition is merely an imbalance.
Somewhere along the line, our systems got out of balance which means our bodies started acting in an auto-immune response way. This means, we started almost having a “self attack” of our natural responses. Many women actually experience a displacement of cells during their monthly. Our bodies unfortunately feel that these displaced cells are an “attack” and that they need to send re-enforcements (additional cells). It is basically a poor immune function that causes excess cells to form and keep growing.
2. I have heard heaps of stories of woman who have
From woman around the world who have managed to cure themselves of Endometriosis, I know that it can be done. We are all different and their methods did vary but ultimately, they were all able to do it and it has stayed gone for years!
3. I have felt the change in myself
I have changed so many aspects within myself, from my diet, to my outlook and my lifestyle. I used to have heaps of pain in my daily life, any time of the month and for no apparent reason. Since making these changes though, I experience 1 day of pain and that pain is bearable where I don’t even need to take any pain-killers.
4. There is a certain logic to nature
When you take a plant that is dying and you give it the right nutrients, the right soil, the right amount of water and the right amount of light, it comes back to life. We are a little more complex than a plant but the principles remain the same. Take out the toxins that exist within our bodies, give our cells super nourishment and hydrate well. Expelling all the negative angry emotions from our bodies will also go a long way to healing the body from anguish and stress.
5. Anything is possible
If man can climb Mount Everest, fly to the moon and achieve exceptional records, then there is no reason we can’t achieve this! We can achieve anything we want in life! Anything! We just need to believe it is possible and then find the methods to achieve it. I know since I started truly believing, the answers and solutions just presented themselves.
I know how hard it is to believe that there could be a cure for Endometriosis. After all, our doctors have told us repeatably that there isn’t one. I know there isn’t one ….in a tablet :) There is however a logical balance that we can regain for our bodies, allowing it to heal naturally.
Do you believe there is a way to cure ourselves of Endometriosis? Do you think nature has all the answers? Do you think we need western medicine on some level to heal and get better?
Would love to hear your thoughts…..

Thanks for all the info, Melissa!
I’ve suspected for a while now that my liver is a bit on the sluggish side. Perhaps I’ll do a liver flush, and see if that helps.
I will think carefully about the laparoscopy – I’m starting to think that perhaps it is a good idea, just to get thing cleaned up if necessary.
Am putting together a shopping list so that I can attempt some of your yummy looking recipes!
Thanks again – your insight and positive attitude is really helpful and encouraging. If you ever come to Knysna I’ll buy you a coffee (or rather, a herbal tea)!
Hugs!
Mali
Thanks for the response, Melissa!
I have tried many different diets in the past (gluten-free, sugar-free, grain-free, GAPS-diet etc.) with sparse results. Most recently I’ve been following a diet along the Weston A. Price Foundation Guidelines (such as is outlined in the book, “Nourishing Traditions”), but this diet recommends large quantities of meat, animal fat and raw dairy, so perhaps it’s not the best for endo sufferers. I am reading your book at the moment and will start implementing your recommendations ASAP!
I am somewhat tempted to get a laparoscopy. A definitive diagnosis would be nice, and I’m quite convinced that I have an adhesion between my left ovary and bowel (if I jump or run I end up in debilitating pain that feels as though the two organs are tugging on each other), so it would be nice to have that taken care of so that I can start with a clean slate. I’ve also heard that some people have less pain after a laparoscopy. That said, the risks do concern me (especially the possibility of something going wrong that would mess with my fertility). Will the dietary/lifestyle changes you recommend be enough to break down any adhesions/old scar tissue?
Thanks again, sorry for all the questions!
Mali
Hi Mali,
Thanks for the support in getting my book and I am sure you will feel better with the new diet. It is all a trial and error and just learning to listen to our bodies again.
I used to have relief from the laparoscopies. They would last for about 8months and then the pain would return, as I guess the Endometriosis cysts would grow back. To give you relief though and to give you a fighting chance, it might be worth doing. Just find an expert Gyni and you should be okay. I used to go to the same doc for all of my 7 operations and he was really good.
I guess, the question one should ask is why we get the adhesions and scar tissue in the first place and much of it has to do with an inflammatory reaction by our bodies. They are also increased by excess estrogens in the body. The diet serves to redue inflammation and flush out excess estrogens. The main reason, I believe the scar tissue and adhesions are there and why we develop endo cells it the wrong place are toxins which are in our bodies, which can’t get out. This has to do with a poor liver function or stagnant liver. The diet I recommend therefore also focuses heavily on healing the liver and reducing the foods that make the liver work harder.
You will also need to do some forms of detoxing to get these toxins out of the body. Bowel cleanses are great as they ensure the “passage” to get stuff out, gets out!
I am re-organising my blog and will have it broken down into these categories for us soon – though if you type into the search box, “liver” or “bowel” you should find heaps to go on.
Feel free to ask me questions and also, maybe join the Facebook support group, where heaps of other girls are also doing things the natural way. https://www.facebook.com/groups/endonatural/
Hugs,
Melissa
Hi Melissa,
So happy to have come across your website. I have not yet had a laparoscopy to confirm endometriosis, but have been told by specialists for over 3 years that I almost certainly do have it, as I have most of the symptoms. The pain this month has been unbearable and I feel utterly defeated, alone and worn down. That said, reading some of your articles has reassured me that there are options other than surgery and medication. Would you recommend at least one laparoscopy to confirm/clean-up? I’ve been putting it off, partly due the expense and partly due to fear (I’ve never had an operation before and am terrified of the possibility of further damaged being caused by the surgery itself). At the moment I take painkillers for 1-3 days of the month (which I hate doing, but the pain is just too severe to handle), but no hormonal treatments/contraceptives.
Thanks for all the helpful information you share on this website!
P.S. I live in Knysna, South Africa (though I’m actually from the UK)! Do you ever come back to this part of the world?
Hi Mali and welcome to my blog :)
Knysna is beautiful! I do come back from time to time to visit my family. If you just focus on your diet and also getting onto some Serrapeptase you will feel better sweets. You don’t have to have an operation if you don’t want to. Some women just get curious as to what is going on and want to have a “clean out” but it is certainly not necessary unless it is really bothering you. Maybe get my book and you will feel better – all the good stuff to reduce the pain and inflammation.
Hugs and lovely to meet you.
healing is an ongoing, constant process, because while we can heal the endometriosis, new wounds open as we continue through life.
on that note, I used to think kundalini yoga was a little weird, but not anymore. Besides other changes, I also found profound healing through doing some kriyas that targeted the 1st and or 2nd chakras (said to be damaged in those with endo) I had this profound experience where I recovered a good memory of my mother. Endometriosis definitely has an emotional component as well. Mind/body are connected and cannot be ignored to heal.
If you’d like to ignore the spiritual aspect of kundalini for the moment, I’ve had it explained to me like this:” when you react to an emotion, like fear, love etc. your muscles do different things. In the case of fear, your psoas muscle(or others) may become tight, over time, it may stay that way, causing all sorts of cascading problems. Kundalini can release the tension in that muscle that has been tight for years and sometimes you can actually emotionally feel that release, as the thing that caused it is brought out again. ” hope this makes sense, it did to me, especially after I experienced it. I am a big advocate of kundalini yoga now.
I started with a candida diet, the herb, pao de arco and using a sauna to sweat out toxins. French Maritime Pine bark seemed to help a lot too, it has some research behind it as well. At this point I was in too much pain to use cardio, I did restorative Iyengar yoga targeting poses that helped “pelvic congestion” etc. when I was stronger I began cardio, anything to get myself sweating. I did a short fast, as much as I could handle. Slowly went gluten and dairy free. I still make a paste with turmeric and take a small spoonfull daily, especially if I’m feeling sore (I get joint pain as one of my symptoms). I put turmeric in a pan and add a little water over low heat and stir until it’s combined. As soon as I was recovered enough, I began pelvic floor exercises (your pelvis is considered an “elimination organ” by many natural practitioners, if you have a problem there, you also have stomach/bowel elimination problems and probably food allergies among others). I’m not just talking kegals, there are alot of other muscles that help your pelvis, go on amazon and look for a book/dvd on it. Lots of shoulder stands once I could do them (shoulder stand has even been studied, albeit not very extensively, and does appear to help the thyroid as claimed..). I had testing by a natural practitioner to see what vitamins/minerals I was deficient in, once I could afford it. I’m probably forgetting some things in there, but this is the gist. I’ve been gluten free for over a year now and I am still improving. I constantly monitor my diet, my stomach can only handle so many irritants in a row. For instance, I don’t drink coffee everyday, and periodically abstain for a week or more. See ayurvedic theories to help with stomach issues, I really feel like they know what they’re talking about. If you are getting a damaging food in your diet for your whole life, it takes a long time to heal. sorry for posting this all on the blog, it’s probably really long. hope this helps.
I agree with you 100%. I was put on Lupron just as if it were candy or toast. After my appointment, I did endless research and began crying. I had entrusted my health into a Dr. because in my head my well being was well entrusted in his hands only to find out that this shot within me was harsh how can you stability in that? I am on the road to healing and it is NOT with western medicine. Melissa, give us all hope. Please don’t stop. Sending you all happy holiday wishes! :)
It is my pleasure Nubia and glad you have decided to follow your natural healing journey and instincts :)
It is possible! I feel I am living proof! Can’t say I never have a twinge of pain but that is cured in my book. I went from feeling suicidal because of constant and excruciating pain and being unable to move normally to this. Don’t give up. I think some will need a different cure than others. Whatever is causing your body to become unbalanced is your personal cure. It is time consuming and sometimes daunting task to figure it all out. I think my problem may also be in my thyroid. If one thing is wrong you can be sure others are too and many symptoms are linked. Finding the root/roots cause is very important. I tried the prescriptions and surgery but achieved nothing without going gluten free. What crap to say drugs are the only answer. They didn’t even work for me unless the goal was to lose my hair!
Thanks for the support Kara! Love it! Lose your hair! Brilliant effect if you are into that kind of thing :)
We are all different but drugs are certainly no “fix all” solution. I personally think our digestion has a heap to do with it!
Kara,
How did you cure yourself?
J
Society is being systematically brainwashed by the media and pharmaceutical industry into thinking that we are powerless and that we must trust only in their drugs to heal us. I think the hacker is one of those people who feels that their health is beyond their control, or perhaps they are jealous of you, hence the overwhelming desire to go to such ridiculous lengths as hacking into your account! You are helping so many women to empower themselves and take control of their healing rather than putting it into the hands of medical practitioners. Keep doing what you are doing Melissa!
Thank you for your lovely comment Belinda. That is wonderful to hear and it does give me the motivation to keep going. Our voices need to be heard!
Hi Melissa,
I am so with you on this one! As a leader in the natural healing world you have to expect that you are going to get pushback. I believe we have become too reliant on doctors to “cure” us and tell us what we should be doing. Unfortunately, Westernized doctors do not want to cure us, they want us to keep coming back – that is what funds their practice. There is a key message at the end of the film Food Matters that has stuck with me – we know our bodies better than any doctor and we have the power to doctor ourselves – but we must stop to listen to the signs our bodies are telling us – that our bodies are screaming at us. Amazing things happen when you start to practice self care. Thank you for keeping the hope of curing endometriosis alive. You have helped me so much on my natural journey. I too am down to only a day of pain a month and this pain is slowly decreasing as time passes.
Thank you for the support Aubree and it is great to have a fellow blogger with the same ideals on healing :)
