Feeling the energy of those around you!

Have you ever noticed how your day can be so different depending on who you spend it with? I know I am possibly more aware of how others make me feel but I wonder if others are even aware of the energies they carry with them.

Do you have people that you find just drain you? They are somehow exhausting to be around? That is their energy. We also have those that just inspire us. We feel energised and almost magnetised to these people. They are excited about life and believe things are possible. These are the energies that we really want to have around us!

Becoming aware of energies is often quite difficult especially if we are already in a situation. I try and step back and really observe someone for who they are without any concern of judgement by them on me. This is quite hard to do. We are naturally observant of how we come across to others but in fact we should acknowledge how others make us feel too.

There are some people which just hold so much hatred in themselves and anger that they carry with them a hostile and negative energy. When we mix with people like this, they are likely to bring these negative elements out in us. I know if I associate with certain people with negative energies, I start to feel quite negative about my life. Be careful who you choose to hold as friends!

For several years I became friends with people who were negatively impacting on my belief in myself. They made me feel inferior by putting me down. This made them feel more important. I had no idea how much they were affecting me until I left the area and came back! We could be stuck in negative spaces due to the people we associate with and only once we leave the situation can we really acknowledge how bad their influences are on us.

So, to make sure you are not surrounded by these negative energies, acknowledge how those around you make you feel. Do you feel uplifted and positive after spending time with someone? Do you feel happy and content and loved and special? If not, you should perhaps review where you are in your life and your connection with these people. This might be hard but it is better to recognise this sooner rather than later. A big change can make a huge difference to how you see your life and your outlook.

Our energy towards ourselves and those around us will greatly impact how we cope with life and stress and of course Endo. The more positive energy we can accumulate through the people in our life the more we will feel like we can overcome Endo and deal with daily life challenges.

The positive energies out there are endless. You can find them though they might be harder. Unfortunately, our media tends to focus on the negatives.

Some other little tips to maintaining your own positive energy:

  • Turn off the TV and enjoy some relaxing music instead while reading a fun uplifting book
  • Go to an uplifting class like Yoga or where positive energies are likely to already exist. Some find church gatherings really good for this.
  • Do something silly where you don’t care about other people’s judgement. This could be skipping down the street or singing alone in your apartment! Just be free and silly and you feel so much happier.

Remember too, what you give out is likely what you will receive! So, ensure your energy is what you would want to spend time with :)
